What is CBD Oil THC Free? Guide
Learn more about the advantages of CBD products without THC in this article, including why you might want to give them a try.
What is CBD Oil THC Free?
Free of THC Just as it sounds, CBD oil is an oil made from hemp extract that has had the THC removed. Our THC Free formula, however, is designed to retain the additional cannabinoids and plant compounds from hemp, many of which have their own health benefits, unlike a CBD isolate. Most CBD products may contain trace amounts of THC because hemp, or the Cannabis sativa L plant, is the source of CBD. Through the creation of a cutting-edge, ground-breaking refinement method to take the THC out of a full-spectrum hemp extract, Charlotte’s Web has continued to be a trailblazer. We are establishing standards for innovation, safety, and environmentally friendly methods that do not rely on hazardous, petroleum-derived solvents that are frequently used in the production of broad-spectrum hemp extracts.
Broad-spectrum hemp extract, which is often referred to as THC-free CBD oil as a result, Broad Spectrum Extract is hemp extract that has been purposefully processed to remove THC such that the quantified THC has been deemed non-detectable. Until recently, the term “broad-spectrum hemp extract” was ambiguous, but the U.S. Hemp Authority has now provided a definition to assist consumers and manufacturers alike. This means that all of the cannabinoids in our natural range are still present with the exception of THC.
According to this definition, it is impossible to create broad-spectrum extracts by mixing numerous isolated cannabinoids or terpenes from other plants. Although it may seem strange to do so, some brands are attempting to assemble a “Broad Spectrum Extract” in an artificial manner. When Charlotte’s Web conducted in-house testing on some of the top broad-spectrum CBD brands, they discovered that some of them did not meet the criteria for broad-spectrum as stated by the U.S. Hemp Authority because they contained only CBD or had terpenes from other plants added.
How is full-spectrum CBD different from CBD oil without THC?
The phytocannabinoids that are naturally present in hemp plants, such as CBD, terpenes (the molecules responsible for plant aromas), essential oils, and other cannabinoids, are all included in a full-spectrum CBD oil. THC, which must be present in trace amounts and be below 0.3% in the U.S., may be present in the mixture of cannabinoids.
A CBD oil without THC, on the other hand, means that the product contains no detectable THC, specifically less than 0.01% or 100ppm. We use our cutting-edge technology for the refinement process to ensure THC is removed to less than 0.01% because it is currently not possible to grow a hemp plant with zero THC. On our website, you can find a Certificate of Analysis that shows the precise quantity in each bottle. For more information, see our blog post What is a Certificate of Analysis.
Consider Charlotte’s Web TM THC Free CBD oil as a broad-spectrum CBD oil that is a full-spectrum hemp extract without the THC. This is superior to many other brands’ THC-free CBD oils because, thanks to our cutting-edge technology, we can extract more valuable substances from the cannabis plant, including terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids (like CBG and CBC). The entourage effect, a type of synergistic activity, is what makes a tincture with all these advantageous compounds more effective at stimulating the body’s endocannabinoid system.
