Dear President Biden – A Personal Appeal Regarding Glioblastoma and Medicinal Cannabis

This video is a personal appeal to President Biden to remove cannabis from DEA Schedule 1, specifically so it can be made available to people diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most aggressive brain cancer – the same illness that took the life of his son Beau and my wife Teri. The UK’s NHS is starting a medicinal cannabis clinical trial specifically for GBM patients (https://www.theguardian.com/society/2021/aug/03/trial-to-test-if-cannabis-based-mouth-spray-can-treat-brain-tumours); additionally, research conducted in 1974 in the US (Antineoplastic Activity of Cannabinoids; JNCI, Sept. 1975) confirmed that THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis, causes cancer cells to commit cellular suicide (apoptosis) while demonstrating no toxicity to healthy cells. I hope you’ll consider sharing this and spreading awareness of the need to conduct further research in the US by removing cannabis from DEA Schedule 1. Thank you.
